Manuel Giménez is the Minister of Economy, Employment and Competitiveness in the Madrid Regional Government  since August 19, 2019 (BOCM nº 197, 08/20/2019)

He is a lawyer, specialized in civil and commercial litigation and arbitration. He had a profesional background in commercial and corporate disputes in various sectors, such as construction, engineering, natural resources or telecommunications.

In addition to a law degree, he has a degree in Business Administration and Management (ICADE E-3). He also has a degree in Political Science by the Universidad Autónoma (Madrid). He has an International Legal Studies Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of New York (NYU), thanks to a Scholarship of Excellence awarded by the Rafael del Pino Foundation. He is a Diploma of Advanced Studies of Ordinary Procedure before Community Courts and a Diploma in Advanced Arbitration Practice from the IE (Instituto de Empresa).

In the academic field, he has been Professor of International Law at the Comillas University, both in undergraduate and postgraduate, as well as the Ramón Llull University (ESADE) where he taught the Law course of the World Trade Organization. He has been Principal Investigator of the Constitutional Law Department of ICADE, Fellow of Aspen Institute Spain, and a member of the Madrid Hub of the Global Shapers community.
